Sunrise Hotel - 3-star family-run hotel with sea views, a two-minute walk from Shanklin Beach
Location
Sunrise Hotel sits a two-minute walk from Shanklin Beach, offering direct access to the shoreline. Guests can walk to Blackgang Chine and Dinosaur Isle, both within 16 km, or use the free on-site parking to explore the island. Southampton Airport is 62 km from the hotel, and a bus stop outside the property connects to other parts of the Isle of Wight.
Rooms
The hotel provides rooms with en-suite bathrooms and sea views, available in double, twin, triple, and quadruple configurations. Larger quadruple rooms offer space for families, while deluxe double rooms include panoramic coastal outlooks. Each room has a private bathroom, tea and coffee maker, flat-screen TV, and a work desk.
Dining
The on-site restaurant serves a full English or Irish breakfast with vegetarian and vegan options, using a tick-card ordering system. The bar offers champagne, local specialities, warm dishes, and accommodates gluten-free requests. No evening meals are available at the hotel; guests instead find nearby restaurants within a short walk.
Leisure
Regular live entertainment includes themed music nights, such as Northern Soul and Ska, held in the bar area. Guests can play billiards for 50p per game, use free electronic darts, and access a games room with board games. An outdoor heated swimming pool with a sun terrace operates seasonally, though it lacks sun loungers.
Amenities
The hotel welcomes dogs in all areas, including the dining room at breakfast, and offers a kid-friendly buffet and children's meals. Family rooms accommodate up to four guests with separate sleeping areas, and the garden provides space for children to play. Free WiFi in public areas and free parking are both included, and the hotel has successfully handled large groups (up to 160 guests for events).
